A blockchain is a transaction database that is updated and shared among multiple computers on a network. When a new set of transactions is added, it is referred to as a “block,” which is also the origin of the term “blockchain.” Public blockchains like Ethereum allow anyone to add data but do not permit data deletion. If someone wants to alter any information or deceive the system, they must do so on a majority of the computers within the network. This requires an enormous amount of computational effort! This makes such decentralized blockchains highly secure.
